President George Bush has nominated Judge Samuel Alito for Sandra Day O’Connor’s seat on the Supreme Court.

I am growing tired of the partisianship. I often feel like i’m choosing which bullet to be shot with.

I am concerned about Judge Alito’s seemingly guaranteed appointment confirmation. Why? He’s a little too cagey for me. I think he is a hard right winger and that wont be good for us petty little citizens. But he doesnt seem to have the guts to come out and say it. That bothers me.

Maybe im tainted a bit. I dont know. I would like to see the Constitution amended. I think there should be a 2/3 majority vote to confirm a Supreme Court Justice. This way the Justice is a true guardian of the people and not just the luck of the President in power at that time. I would like to see Justices that actually care about the people and the Constitution. I dont think thats the case much anymore.
